The Khalifa International Award for Early Learning showcased the nomination criteria.
“Khalifa Award” discusses joint cooperation with Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority.

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai and the Khalifa Award for Education discussed the prospects for cooperation to serve the process of advancing the educational progress in the country, especially concerning the Khalifa International Award for Early Learning field, which was introduced to the world to shed light on international experiences and best practices in early childhood care, and providing a stimulating environment to set forward more creativity, innovation, and leadership.
The reception of Her Excellency Fatma Ibrahim Belrehif, CEO of the Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau (DSIB), at the Authority’s headquarters in Dubai, to the award delegation included Humaid Ibrahim, a member of the Executive Committee, Dr. Jana Fleming, and Fatima Al Bastaki, members of the awarding committee for the Khalifa International Award for Early Learning, and several KHDA team members.
At the beginning of the meeting, Her Excellency Fatma Ibrahim Belrehif welcomed the Khalifa Award for Education delegation and gave a comprehensive overview of the Authority’s mission, programs, and role in supporting the education process at the level of the Emirate of Dubai and the UAE in general. During the meeting, Her Excellency touched on the best practices applied by the Authority regarding the quality of education and the quality assurance processes that aim to provide an educational environment that keeps pace with the best international standards in the various educational stages. Belrehif addressed the Authority’s efforts in caring for the early childhood sector and the interest in early education, and the support that the Authority gives to early childhood centers, nurseries, and other facilities concerned with preparing and rehabilitating early childhood for a brighter future.
Hamid Ibrahim gave a scientific presentation on the mission and objectives of the Khalifa Award for Education, which was launched in 2007, and presents ten areas distributed in 17 categories in its current session, indicating that the award constituted a quantum leap in the field of teaching and educational excellence locally, regionally, and internationally, and highlighted 480 male and female winners ever since its launch.
Hamid pointed out that, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Khalifa Award for Education, the award launched the field of the Khalifa International Award for Early Learning, which is the first of its kind in the world. This field aims to: Enhance the social, physical, mental, Intellectual, creative, psychological, cognitive, and emotional different needs in early education and childhood. In addition, the field adds to enriching distinguished, innovative education programs with research, studies, programs, curricula, methodologies, and advanced teaching methods in early education. Concerning teachers, the field’s goal is to motivate those who are creators of change through best practices and innovation in early education. Moreover, this field contributes to activating and encouraging the role of Educational centers, institutions, and companies, and it takes on publicizing the most successful individual experiences in early education. Besides, the best studies and the most successful educational programs, methodologies, and practices in early childhood are highlighted as educational institutions are encouraged to apply within the UAE.
Dr. Jana Fleming elaborated on the arbitration criteria for the two categories of the Khalifa International Award for Early Learning Field, noting the commitment of the award secretariat to transparency and objectivity in arbitrating the applications of the candidates, explaining that the “The Khalifa International Award for Early Learning Field values excellence in research to enrich practice, and also values excellence in Programs and practice and each application will be reviewed according to a set of rigorous criteria to identify the best models in the world, which will provide information to support public and private investments in the field of early education, and these criteria include innovation, originality, and practical contributions to the development of early education, with a focus on the implications of This is about measurable and sustainable change and achieving the desired transformation.”
Fatima Al Bastaki also reviewed the time plan for accepting the candidates’ papers through the website and intelligent applications, noting that the acceptance of the participants’ applications for the Khalifa International Award for Early Learning Field are due no later than February 28th at the international level for this field, after which a specialized scientific committee will sort the applications. It includes several experts up to the arbitration stage, announcing the winners’ names and honoring them next May.
At the end of the meeting, the award delegation presented a commemorative shield to the Authority’s officials.
